You should possess at least a basic will, power of attorney and health care directive in order to provide you and your family with peace of mind. Our estate planning attorneys will help you map out where you want to be in the future. Additionally, if your estate is comprised of significant or diverse assets, we will help you establish an estate plan tailored to your particular needs. ### Probate Law Probate is the legal process necessary to ensure your loved one's assets are distributed legally or in the way they desired after they pass away. Whether your family member passed away with a will (testate) or without a will (intestate), North Dakota law provides guidelines for how the estate should be administered. At Maverick Law Group, we recognize that probate can be one of the most stressful times for a family. After a loved one passes away, it can be overwhelming to begin the process to distribute their estate. By ensuring that you have knowledgeable, experienced counsel, you can rest easy knowing that you will have guidance every step of the way. We have assisted many Personal Representatives from across the country in successfully administering their loved ones' estates in North Dakota. ### Elder Law Elder Law is a specialized area of practice which seeks to assist the elderly or those with similar concerns. An individual might need an elder law attorney to assist with obtaining or paying for long term care or if they or someone they love is no longer able to care for themselves. Our elderly should be cared for diligently and with compassion. Maverick Law Group, PLLC is here to assist you or your family member. ### Business Law ## Helping You With Business Formation And Contract Negotiations As an entrepreneur or business owner in North Dakota, you juggle many responsibilities on a daily basis. When a legal matter arises, seek the assistance of an experienced business attorney. Selecting the right entity (LLC, LLP or corporation) is an important first step in starting a business. We spend time with prospective business owners to identify the unique aspects of their business operations. From there, we are able to pursue a business entity best suited for each client's specific needs and goals. Contracts are a vital part of business operations. On behalf of our clients, we help take proactive steps in drafting and reviewing enforceable documents to protect their business interests. Those include non-compete and intellectual property covenants, partnership agreements, leases, buy-sell agreements, franchising agreements, and partnership and shareholder agreements. ## Your Partner in Business Growth We are committed to the growth and success of your business operations. If your success leads to a merger, acquisition or another complex aspect of business law - such as a financial, environmental or property dispute - we are well equipped to handle those issues for you as well. ## ### Immigration Law Immigration Law is the law of the federal government that controls citizenship in our country. It determines who is allowed to enter the country and for how long. The naturalization process can be frustrating and confusing, but it does not have to be. With guidance with one of our experienced attorneys, we can help you attain your American dream. ### Contract Law ## Legally Binding Yourself in a Contract Agreement A contract is a written or spoken agreement, especially one concerning employment, sales, or tenancy that is intended to be enforceable by law. These are voluntary agreements between two or more parties covering a wide range of legal matters. There are generally several main components that make up a contract: offer, acceptance, consideration, intent, mutuality of obligation, and in most cases has to be in writing. Maverick Law Group can assist you in creating contracts, reviewing contracts, and negotiating contract terms. ## Why Professional Contract Review Matters Having a contract in place for certain matters is an essential step in most situations. Ensuring that the contract covers everything you are looking for, everything you need, and provides you with the full protection possible is necessary. Our attorney is trained to look for potential issues and advise you on the best route to take in situations. ### Guardianship & Conservatorship Law A guardianship and/or conservatorship is the legal process to appoint someone to care for you when you can no longer make or communicate safe or sound decisions for your care and property. When a guardianship and/or conservatorship is needed, we assure that the individual receives their due process and retains as much autonomy as possible. ### Indian Law ##Knowledge and Experience in Navigating Sovereign Nations Handling legal matters in Indian Country requires extensive knowledge of how the Tribal Courts operate in comparison to State or Federal Courts. It is a matter of understanding Federal Indian Laws, tribal sovereignty and jurisdiction, and state law limitations and interactions within Indian Country. Indian Tribes have sovereignty which means the inherent right to govern themselves. Tribal sovereignty acts as a shield against state law on many levels. Many issues that come up in tribal law generally intersect with common non-Indian matters as well. It is helpful to know when you need to operate in Tribal Court, State Court, or Federal Court when it comes to handling your legal needs. The Maverick Law Group team has studied tribal law to learn the differences of tribal, state, and federal laws and have the experience needed to negotiate and litigate in a wide variety of matters in Tribal Court We are committed to helping you navigate into tribal law to know whether the Tribe, the State, or the Federal Government has jurisdiction of your legal matter. ### Native American Estate Planning Our Native American clients have unique needs. The standard estate plan that works for most of our clients does not address the needs of the Native American community, particularly as it relates to trust and restricted lands. ### Oil and Gas Law ## Facing An Oil, Gas Or Mineral Rights Legal Matter?
